- Inscribed 'No54' in the upper left-hand corner of the mount. Figures walking on a path in the foreground; a cottage to the left; a bridge and the village of Dalkeith at the centre of the scene; trees throughout. Inscribed with title in black ink in the lower left-hand corner of the mount. Etched with intials in the lower right-hand corner. Hand-tinted by Robert Adam.

- Donated to George III in 1786. Part of a volume of prints and drawings by John Clerk of Eldin together with manuscript descriptions for each and a letter to George III by David Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan. Some of the etchings were hand-tinted by Robert Adam.
