- Additional information
- This print depicts the same view as the drawing at Maps K.Top.38.23.b. It is possible that this drawing was made after the print and that an untraced 'original' was the basis for this print and not this drawing. There is no record of a church dedicated to St David at Compton Dando. The parish church is dedicated to St Mary. This print, the drawing and the plan at Maps K.Top.38.23.a. and Maps K.Top.38.23.b. depict the church of St Mary at Compton Dando. The church as it stands today was extensively remodelled in the nineteenth century but the tower was left largely intact. The title to this drawing, the print and view are incorrect.
