Barges and houseboats on a canal, with group of men watching from the bank in the foreground, city-walls and temple on the left and sluice on the right in the background. Pasted on mount with washlines and annotated in pencil on verso: 'A Bonze's Temple & Sluice or Lock at Shinsam, November 1793'. Signed with initials at bottom right.
