A rowing boat in the foreground; ships on the water on the left and right-hand sides; Castle Cornet on an island at the centre of the scene; cannons being fired and smoke rising from chimneys; a large Union Jack flag flying. Inscribed with title in black ink along upper edge. Indistinctly inscribed in black ink on verso 'Profeil et Prospect Du Chateau Cornet devant L'Isle de Guernsey come il se . . ver l'orient a la Maray hoffe. . . considerer les autre profiels'.
