Bound in volume with index and drawings mounted on pages numbered 1-115. Mounted on page no. 1. For dating, see McPhee 2002 (cat. 32), who notes that Pietro Paolo Drei's drawing shows the conduit under the south tower that would later be removed (marked as C), and that it was therefore 'most likely made during 1645, when the tower and the condition of its foundations were under intense discussion'. Drei was the soprastante of the Fabbrica of St. Peter's at the time. The drawing also shows his 'proposal for rerouting water away from the problematic south-east corner of the basilica' (McPhee 2008).
