- Inscribed 'No39' in the upper left-hand corner of the mount. Ships and boats on the River Tay in the foreground; a tower on the left-hand side; Perth Bridge stretching across the scene in the middle ground; mountains in the distance. Cut so that date, signature and title are missing.

- With a description of the scene on the facing page in brown ink. Donated to George III in 1786. Part of a volume of prints and drawings by John Clerk of Eldin together with manuscript descriptions for each and a letter to George III by David Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan. Some of the etchings were hand-tinted by Robert Adam.
