- Additional information
- This drawing belongs to a group of five drawings and plans (Maps K.Top.28.4.dd.3. to Maps K.Top.28.4.dd.7) of the house and grounds of the architect Henry Holland (1745-1806). In 1771 Holland purchased 89 acres of land in Chelsea where he later built the estate known as Hans Town which comprised Sloane Street, Cadogan Place and Hans Place. Holland's house was known as Sloane Place and later as The Pavilion and was built by him between c.1782 and c.1789. Holland occupied the house by 1789 and so this drawing must have been made after the house was complete and is likely to be a presentation set of plans and drawings probably by Holland himself.
