Description
Inscribed 'N44 in the upper left-hand corner of the mount. A horse and rider and fishermen in the foreground; the River Tyne and Bridge at the centre of the scene; cottages on the left; St Mary's Collegiate Church at Haddington on the right; mountains in the distance. Etched with number, title, date and initials in the upper left-hand corner.

With a description of the scene on the facing page in brown ink. Donated to George III in 1786. Part of a volume of prints and drawings by John Clerk of Eldin together with manuscript descriptions for each and a letter to George III by David Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan. Some of the etchings were hand-tinted by Robert Adam.
