Description
Steps leading to a circular well with three Doric columns on each side supporting entablature and Baroque canopy crowned by female allegorical statue holding a cross (Religion?) on a pedestal; scale at bottom right.

The allegorical statue on top of the well-head was later replaced with an image of Saint Anthony of Padua. From a collection of tinted Architectural Drawings of Churches, Palaces, and other edifices in Venice, their plans, elevations, etc. Probably by Antonio Visentini and members of his workshop. Prefixed to each tome are the Arms of Joseph Smith, formerly British Consul at Venice, to whom the work once belonged; and a table in MS. entitled:
