Description
Inscribed 'No26' in the upper left-hand corner of the mount. View of Eddystone Lighthouse during a storm with a choppy sea and ships on either side. Etched with title in the upper left-hand corner. Etched 'No72' and with initials in the upper right-hand corner.

With a description of the scene on the facing page in brown ink. Donated to George III in 1786. Part of a volume of prints and drawings by John Clerk of Eldin together with manuscript descriptions for each and a letter to George III by David Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan. Some of the etchings were hand-tinted by Robert Adam.
