Description
Inscribed 'No35' in the upper left-hand corner of the mount. A tree and monument on the left; figures at the centre of the middle ground; the remains of Cambuskenneth Abbey in the form of a tower on the right; ships on water behind; Stirling in the distance. Etched with title, initials and date along upper edge.

With a description of the scene on the facing page in brown ink. Donated to George III in 1786. Part of a volume of prints and drawings by John Clerk of Eldin together with manuscript descriptions for each and a letter to George III by David Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan. Some of the etchings were hand-tinted by Robert Adam.
