- Description
- Inscribed 'No52' in the upper left-hand corner of the mount. A figure and two dogs on a path by a stream in the foreground; the ruins of Crossraguel Abbey at the centre of the scene; Maybole and Baltersan Castle behind; trees and hills throughout the scene. Etched with title, initials and date in the lower left-hand corner. Etched 'Del 1762' in the lower left-hand corner.

- With a description of the scene on the facing page in brown ink. Donated to George III in 1786. Part of a volume of prints and drawings by John Clerk of Eldin together with manuscript descriptions for each and a letter to George III by David Erskine, 11th Earl of Buchan. Some of the etchings were hand-tinted by Robert Adam.
