- Description reads: 'The western part of this Cathedral here represented was built principally at the Expence of Bishop Grandison, and finish'd about the Year of Christ 1369. In the Niches are contained Statues of the Patriarchs, Apostles, Bishops & other Ecclesiastics, Crusaders and some of the Ancient Kings of England, amongst whom is King Athelstan, who in the Year 932 was the first founder of this Church & built that part thereof now used for a Liberty'.
