- A drawing of a tile found at a mansion house near Bow. Inscribed '3/4 of an inch thick found at King Johns Palace Old Ford' in brown ink below image. Inscribed ' 3/4 of an inch thick found at St Johns Palace Old Ford' in brown ink on the verso.

- King John's Palace was a house in Old Ford near Bow in what is now East London. There is no evidence to suggest that the house was at any time a royal residence. The house was given to Christ's Hospital by William William in 1665. By 1878 the only part of the building which remained was a brick gallery which had recently been covered with cement.
