- Description
- Two men smoke pipes and watch the barges and small sailing ships on the Sanhe River, with cottages and the city-walls of Pao-ying hsien in the background. Signed with initials at bottom right and annotated in pencil on verso: 'The Walls of a Town or City call'd Pou-een-gin. November 1793'. Pasted on mount with washlines.

- Described as 'A view of part of the City Wall of Pao-yng-shien, with vessels of various kinds passing under it. From this drawing may be collected a general idea of the manner in which the Walls of cities are constructed in China' in manuscript notes bound with the drawings. Many views in this series were reproduced in Sir George Staunton's Narrative of the Embassy, published in 1797.
