Description
Beggars, street-sellers, priests, soldiers, an officer on horseback, a shoe-shiner, a crowd of spectators gathered around a puppet show, passers-by and a town crier in Milan's porticoed Piazza del Duomo in the foreground, with shops under the arches on both sides and fac_ade of the cathedral, carriages and the Royal Palace and Piazzeta Reale in the background; text providing dimensions and information on the cathedral below. Title contains coat of arms of Frederick Ponsonby, third Earl of Bessborough.
