Five boats loaded with bales, barrels, cattle and passengers, sail in rough waters during a storm on Lake Maggiore in the foreground, near the shores of Isola Madre, with Palazzo Borromeo and gardens seen against the mountains in the background. Title contains coat of arms of Count Giberto Borromeo Arese.
