This work is by the same hand as that at Maps K.Top.8.47.b. which bears the inscription 'drawn by Richard Gardner Sen'. There is a possibility that this work is by Richard Gardnor Snr who was probably the Richard Gardnor listed as 'Drawing Master' in the Free Society of Artists and who exhibited there in 1765-7. Richard Gardnor Jnr is probably the artist associated with John Gardnor (1728/9
