Description
Interior of a neo-classical chapel; men and women sat at long tables, feasting from plates of food; fluted pilasters stretching up to a balcony on which figures stand. Signed and dated 'S.H. Grimm ad nat: del 1773' in the lower right-hand corner. Bears an indistinct watermark containing the letter 'X'. This view and its pendant, Maps K.Top.26.5.r., were bequeathed to King George III in 1810 by Sir Richard Kaye, who commissioned Grimm to paint the scenes.
