- Figures in a boat in the foreground; a man with a dog and basket standing on rocks in the foreground; the hexagonal basalt columns of Fingals' Cave at Staffa stretching across the scene. Inscribed with title above and below image in black ink. Signed in black ink in the lower left-hand corner outside image.

- This watercolour depicts the same view as an oil painting by Bittio sold at Christie's on 12 - 13 December 2007 (sale 7524, lot 310). The oil painting was one of a pair, the other depicting The Giant's Causeway, Ireland. This may explain the inclusion of the 'No2' by Bittio's name; that this drawing is the second in a pair.
