- Drawing of the Rufus Stone in the New Forest; trees throughout the scene. Inscribed with title in black ink along upper edge. Signed and dated in black ink in the lower left-hand corner. The stone bears the inscription: 'Anno 1745 That where Event so mem . . . had happened . . . .not be hereafter unknown this site was set up by Joh . . . Lord Delaware who has seen the tree growing in this place This stone was repaired by Joh Richard Earl Delaware Anno MDCCLXXXI'. '.
