- Drawing of the Rufus Stone in the New Forest; trees throughout the scene. Inscribed with title in black ink along upper edge. Signed and dated in black ink in the lower left-hand corner. The stone bears the inscription: 'Here stood the oak tree on which the Arrow shot by Walter Tyrrell at a Stag glanc'd and struck King William the 2nd surnamed Rufus on the breast of which he instantly died on the second day of August Anno Do. this spot was visited . . . King George III the Third on 27 June Anno MDCCLXXXIX'.
