Rosamond's Pond was filled in by 1770. An engraving dating from 1791 bears compositional similarities to this drawing. The engraving was published in 'London and its Environs' by John Thomas Smith (London, 1791). The text accompanying the print in this publication reads: 'The drawing from which this was engraved was made in 1758'.
