- Additional information
- Bound in volume with index preceding drawings and prints numbered 1-115 (page no. 94). Probably from the collection of Cardinal Albani, acquired for George III by James Adam in 1762. The Ludovico Paciotti who signs the previous drawing is probably the same as a 'Lodovico Paciotto di Urbino' mentioned in the Memorie e documenti per servire all' istoria del Ducato di Lucca (vol. 8, 1822, p. 366). Paciotto 'wished to offer his services to the Most Excellent Council [of Lucca] in his profession as a military engineer' in about 1636, when the Council was considering repairs to the city walls. The fortifications in Maiolo were partly destroyed by lightning in about 1647, a fact mentioned in the text accompanying the drawing.
