- Additional information
- Part of a series of ten views of Potsdam. Bound within a volume which contains 50 views including twenty of Berlin by Johann Georg Rosenberg, published by Jean Morino. Also within this volume is a title sheet depicting a landscape and monument in gouache which reads 'Collection des Vues principals de Berlin et de Potsdam apartenante a Le Majeste George III. Roi de la Grande Bretagne, de France et dIrelane etc: etc: et presentee par ses tres humbles, tres respectueux et tres soumis serviteurs Jean Morino & Compagnie. Berlin. 1789'. This sheet suggests that the volume was compiled for King George III by Morino. This is one of two versions of 'Premiere vue du Palaise Neuf de Sansouci de la Gallerie des Tableaux et ses Environs' in the volume. While both prints are exactly the same they have been coloured differently so that the figures in the foreground are not the same.
