Portrait of a man with a thin moustache and his hair in a plait rolled around the top of his shaved head, dressed in knee-length wide trousers and a loose long-sleeved chemise, full-length smoking a long pipe and sitting cross-legged on a wooden chest by a writing-desk in his cabin, with landscape seen through window in the background. Pasted on mount with washlines.
