Additional information
Part of a series of twenty views of Berlin. This view is a duplicate added after the complete series of 20 views within the volume, which are coloured with watercolour. The duplicates are hand-coloured in gouache. This particular print was coloured by Johann August Ernst Niegelssohn in 1788. It is bound with a foreword in letterpress in French and German, listing and describing each view. Bound within a volume which contains 50 views including 10 views of Potsdam by Andreas Ludwig Kruger after Johann Friedrich Meyer, published by Jean Morino. Also within this volume is a title sheet depicting a landscape and monument in gouache which reads 'Collection des Vues principals de Berlin et de Potsdam apartenante a Le Majeste George III. Roi de la Grande Bretagne, de France et dIrelane etc: etc: et presentee par ses tres humbles, tres respectueux et tres soumis serviteurs Jean Morino & Compagnie. Berlin. 1789'. This sheet suggests that the volume was compiled for King George III by Morino.
