Additional information
This group of birchbark drawings at Maps K.Top.119.15. were given to King George III by the Simcoes in October 1796. Elizabeth Simcoe drew on the darker interior of the birchbark rather than the paler exterior. It is probable that this set was conceived of and made as a group possibly with the intention of presenting them to George III, rather than as a series of sketches made at differing points during the Simcoe
Other persons
Pilkington, Robert, 1765-1834, artist.
