- Described as 'The punishment of the Cangue. This instrument is an immense block of wood like a square table with a hole in the middle in which the criminal's neck is put' in manuscript notes bound with the drawings. Reproduced in Sir George Staunton's Narrative of the Embassy, published in 1797 (plate 28). Another drawing of the same subject with an additional female figure on the left in BM collection (BM 1865,0520.198).
