Sailors and workers gather among barrels, crates and bales around the Oestricher Kran, or wine loading crane, by the Rhine in the foreground, with a mother and two children sitting by a stone wall at right and view of the town of Mittelheim and Schloss Johannisberg on top of a hill surrounded by vineyards in the background.
