- View looking across grass to the ruins of Acton Burnell in Shrewsbury. A large country house to the right of the ruined castle; a chapel on the left; trees and a ruined building in the foreground; trees and fields stretching to the horizon; Shrewsbury in the distance. Engraved 'Proof' in the lower right-hand corner. The arms of the Smythe family in the centre of the engraved text. A long inscription to the right of the arms describes the history of Acton Burnell and its owners.
